Auto-generate chapter markers from any transcript.
A free chapter generator for YouTube and podcast transcripts. Detects topical shifts in a transcript and proposes chapter markers with timestamps. Output: 5-10 chapter markers per hour of content, ready to paste into descriptions.
Paste a timestamped transcript. The generator clusters by topic shifts and outputs YouTube-compatible chapter markers (0:00 - Intro / 2:30 - Topic 1 / etc.).

Who this is for
Podcasters and YouTube creators with long-form content (30min+) who lose viewers because there are no chapter shortcuts.
The problem this solves
YouTube videos with chapters get 30% more average watch time. Manual chapter creation is tedious. The generator clusters timestamped transcript by topic-shift detection (sentence pattern + keyword changes) and outputs ready-to-paste chapter blocks.
YouTube videos and podcasts with chapter markers retain approximately 18-25% more listeners through to the end vs equivalent content without chapter navigation.

Frequently asked
How many chapters should a 10-minute video have?
4-7 chapters. Too few = under-navigated. Too many = fragmented. Aim for 1-2 minutes per chapter.
Does YouTube require specific chapter formatting?
Yes: first chapter at 00:00, format MM:SS or HH:MM:SS, minimum 10 seconds between chapters, minimum 3 total. Tool enforces all of these.
Is this different from the YouTube chapter formatter?
This generator takes a transcript and detects natural chapter boundaries. The formatter takes a rough chapter list you already wrote and outputs the YouTube-compliant format.
Does Spotify support chapters too?
Yes — Spotify Podcasts uses the same format as YouTube. Same chapter list works on both.
Should I add chapters to podcasts under 20 minutes?
Optional. Below 15 minutes, chapter overhead doesn't add navigation value. Above 20 minutes: always add chapters.
