Cold pitch templates podcasters actually reply to.

A free cold-outreach generator for podcast guest invitations. Outputs a 4-paragraph email anchored on a specific signal about the target guest (recent tweet, article, talk, launch). Forces the structure that produces 3-5× higher reply rates than generic "love your work" pitches.

Enter your podcast name + target guest + the specific angle you want to interview them about. The generator outputs a 4-paragraph cold pitch: subject line, opening signal-reference, value proposition for the guest, and a soft ask.

Adam, the decision math behind quitting paid... — Building in Public episode invite

Email body

Hi Adam,

Your thread last week about cutting your CAC from $180 to $40 by killing all paid ads — I keep coming back to that decision, especially the 60-day math after you killed the ads.

I host Building in Public, a podcast for indie SaaS founders sharing real revenue, churn, and bug stories. The audience is roughly 4,000 founders building $1-50k MRR products, and we run unedited 45-minute conversations — no PR fluff, just the actual operating reality.

I'd love to record an episode focused on the decision math behind quitting paid acquisition and the first 60 days after. Specifically: what your dashboard looked like in week 1 of the change, the moment you knew the experiment was working, and what you'd warn another founder considering the same move.

Recordings are 45 minutes on Riverside. I'll send promo clips for you to repost. Happy to share a list of recent guests if useful.

Worth a 15-min chat to see if the angle works for you?

Who this is for

Podcasters who keep getting "thanks but no thanks" replies because their guest outreach reads like a form letter.

The problem this solves

Most podcast guest outreach gets ignored because it's lazy: "Love your work, would love to have you on the show." The generator forces specificity — you have to fill in a signal (a tweet, an article, a recent talk) which is the single biggest reply-rate lever for cold guest outreach.

Podcast guest outreach pitches that reference a specific recent signal about the target (a published article, a tweet, a talk, a launch) achieve approximately 3-5× higher reply rates than generic compliments — yet 71% of pitches contain no such signal.

How to use it

  1. 01

    Your show name + niche

Helps frame why a guest should care.

  2. 02

    Target guest name + role

Concrete person, not "leaders in fintech."

  3. 03

    The specific signal

Required — what did THIS guest do recently that prompted your reach-out.

  4. 04

    Your angle

The specific topic. Not "your work" — a real angle.

What you get

  • Subject line + 4-paragraph body
  • Signal-anchored opener (3× reply rate)
  • Guest-focused value prop (not yours)
  • Soft ask (not "30 min on my podcast")

Frequently asked

What's a "signal" in cold pitching?

Something specific the target person did in the last 30-60 days — a tweet, article, talk, podcast appearance, product launch, fundraise. Generic "I love your work" isn't a signal. "Your point in last week's talk about X" is.

What's a good reply rate for cold guest pitches?

5-15% for warm signals; under 2% without. Tier-1 guests (>500k followers) reply at 2-5%. Tier-2 (50-500k) at 8-15%. Below 50k followers: 15-30% if pitch is specific.

Should I email or DM?

DM for guests under 100k followers. Email for established public figures with a clear email address. Don't DM celebrity-tier targets cold — go through their booker or publicist.

How many follow-ups before giving up?

One follow-up at day 7-10. Two follow-ups maximum. After that, you're hurting your reputation. Add the guest to a "revisit in 6 months" list instead.

Should I offer compensation?

Most podcasters don't pay guests. Tier-1 guests sometimes have a speaker-fee policy ($1k-25k). Email their booking agency to ask. Don't lead with compensation — lead with audience fit and value.
