The problem

Centered crops slice faces in half on multi-speaker recordings.

A center-crop works for one person sitting dead-middle. It fails the moment you record a 2-person podcast, a panel, or a walking segment. Half the viewers see half a face — the worst possible frame for short-form conversion.

How we solve it

Face-tracking model + a human override.

Auto-Reframe submits the source video to Replicate’s face-tracking model (currently `lucataco/video-reframe`). The model returns a new MP4 with the crop window tracking whichever face is most prominent in each frame. For cases where the AI picks the wrong face, the Viral Moments Preview editor has a manual crop-x override — drag the lime-bordered 9:16 guide left/right on the source, and that position bakes into the render.

  • Automatic face-tracking via Replicate — BYOK, so you pay at cost
  • Manual drag-to-reposition fallback on every clip
  • Three output ratios: 9:16 (TikTok/Reels/Shorts), 1:1 (Instagram Feed), 4:5 (LinkedIn)
  • Resulting MP4 flows straight into captions + brand kit, no re-render

Why BYOK

Because rendering face-tracking at scale is expensive.

A face-tracked reframe of a 2-minute clip costs Replicate ~$0.02–0.05 depending on the model. Clipflow doesn’t resell tokens — you bring your Replicate key, we run the job, you pay Replicate directly. Result: no 3x markup, and your AI bill is one transparent line item.
